Tengboche Monastery
soo.. where to start.. so much has happened/ happens...
well since 1 week I live in a buddh. Monastery in 3900m. When I look out of my lil stone window I see Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam (one of the most impressive mountains ever) just some m in front of me. Life here is amazing... but very very basic, simple and different.
Dan and I share a lil stone room with a big fat rat just next to the monastery, where we sleep on the floor. Mainly Dan (the other volunteerworker) and I work in the Eco-Center, which means we inform in and outcoming trekkers about their environmental impact, about the monastery, the region...
In the afternoons I help Nima, an exil-tibetan painter to finish decorating the Prayer room with beautiful Thankas, or help in the lil cafe (baking cakes), organizing stuff for the shop or goin for acclimatization-hikes(coz I wanna go to Everest Base Camp on 5300m next week)
But still my coolest "job" is teaching English to a handful monks each evening. In one of their rooms we sit together practise talking, having discussions, grammar, playing games... In revenge they try to learn me Tibetan and Sherpa (but i hve to admit that unfortunately I m not so talented than my "lil students") Last evening (afetr a long long discussion) they gave my a new name, coz Eva is to un-Tibetan. So mero naam " Pasang Puti". (hich means so much we Friday fairy :-)
Actully I can't believ that I'm here and do what i do. The monks (everybody here!!) is just so nice and kind nd friendly. They tret my like family. Every day I eat with some of them in the Labrang (the dark dusty monastery kitchen), I mediate with them in the morning, and when they see my they call out for me and wave. so sweet.
and of course the mountains.. wow...
next week im gonna go to base camp. looking forward to it. ..
gotta go now. i have to go back home to the nmonastery before it gets dark (and it's a steep 4 hours walk..)
well take care evrybody
love Pasang Puti (also known as Eva) :)
