byebye Tengboche, hey Everest Base Camp
Namasteee
sohoo so much happened again... shortly:
Though life in Tengboche is amazing, it's close to an end - my restless feet want to move on once again...
Last week I went up to Everest Base Camp - what an experience. After 4days hike I got to the famous Everest Base Camp on 5300m next to the Khumbu Ice Fall. Guys, that place is one of the weirdest places on earth! After having an Apple Pie at the (probably) world's highest bakery and after almost getting scalped and killed in an Spanish-expedition-Toilet-Tent (man!! - these tents are f*** dangerous for lil girls with a dizzy altiude-head...), I had a nice lil chat with some of these expedition-guys, which r already sitting there for 2months and wiating for their chance. Life must be (is) so boring up there... and all of them (mostly men) are craving for fresh flesh (not the one to eat, if u know what I mean..). But soon everybody is done and will go back. On the day I was there 40(!) climbers reached the Top of the World - crazy. around 240tents are standing up their... I don't think Everest is what it used to be once... it's pretty disappointing. just everybody can be dragged up there these days if u have enough money.
Unfortunately the weather was quite shitty (snowstorms and fog) when i went up so that my Everest Views were very limited... but whatever... sleeping at Gorak Shep - which is just under the basecamp was an adventure... well -try to sleep at 5200m... I can tell you now that is NOT fun. all in all it was a great trip... a bit lonely though, coz Dan had to stay in the Eco-Center, so I had to go all by myself, which was not soo cool sometimes (where is my Tom?!), but I got to know some nice Americans, Indians, Britons, Slovenians...
whatever... my last days in Tengboche were sad and very interesting... it was hard to say goodbye to "my" monks. At the moment there was a huge celebration going on (aroundf 65other monks from different monastaries came to visit) so it was quite busy. Most of the time I helped the cooks in the Gompa-kitchen. On one day the other Sherpa-women and me fabriced 800Momo-dumplings....
but yep in 1, 2 days I'm gonna be back in Kathmandu. I am sick again (freezing every night and afternoon up there was obviously not so great for my immune systeme) and it's not so much to do anymore up there.... in KTM i will probably help in a orphanage.... and then in some weeks already back hoooome...
hopefully my baby-plane can land tomorrow....
so xriting u the next time hopfully from KTM - Eva, the vandalist.
